It’s finnished camping for a while. Australia has different types of camping grounds, and I absolutely liked the ones in the national parks. Small (only a few people), cheap, …: OK, no luxury but I didn’t need that. It’s safer than camping along the road. (which is not always legal in Australia). Especially in the Northern Territory, camping wild wasn’t easy at all.
What hit my attention was the amount of middle aged people on the road. A lot of couples, older than 50, start exploring their country. They travel for several months. Most of them with the caravan, but some of them carry everything. They have a big bus, transformed as a house, and carry their car with them, a boat, … Big units on the move. They said: when they are young, they travel around Europe and now they explore Australia.
